CLEARPath™
Cable Ingress Management Software (CIM)
Electroline's
CLEARPath Cable Ingress Management (CIM) software gives cable service
providers the capability to monitor their network and control the CPM-2
ingress-locating modules and Test Point Selectors (TPS).
A graphical user interface, the CIM software package is used to manage,
control and continuously monitor the upstream spectrum from all nodes.
CIM can compare this spectrum to a user-defined "limit line" or to a spectral
trace that is characteristic for that node. If the limit threshold is
breached, an alarm is sounded. CIM then calls a pager number to notify
the appropriate cable system manager. CIM allows the source of ingress
to be rapidly detected and located in a cable network.
The CIM software interfaces with third-party spectrum analyzers, allowing
for a simultaneous CIM management screen display to better visualize problem
areas. Using the "Point & Click" method, the source of ingress is
easily traced and the offending segment is either turned off and isolated,
or attenuated by 6 dB.
