Unit IV
The Control
Unit IV is a powerful headend microcomputer designed to work with both
Electroline's Addressable System and its CLEARPath™ Ingress Management
Solution.
Application with Electroline’s Addressable System: The Control
Unit controls the status of addressable splitters and multitap units located
in the field. It receives subscriber information from any cable billing
system and continuously transmits it to the addressable splitters and
multitaps located in the field via an FSK control carrier (see
diagram 1 on the Application Diagrams page).
Application
with CLEARPath™ System: The Control Unit remotely switches
addressable CPMs (CLEARPath modules) and Test Point Selectors (TPS) according
to the status it receives from the control software (see
diagram 2 on the Application Diagrams page).
