ELECTROLINE EXHIBITS THE FIRST DOCSIS®-BASED TRANSPONDER FOR OPTICAL NODES
The DOCSIS®-based Status Monitoring Transponder implements
ANSI/SCTE38-5 2002 (formerly HMS 025 specification)
Montreal, Canada - June 15, 2005 - Electroline Equipment Inc. will be displaying the first ever status monitoring transponder for optical nodes that is based on DOCSIS® technology. Until now, optical nodes could be retrofitted or ordered with “legacy” technology to report vital performance and alarms back to network management systems. Using DOCSIS® and the SCTE HMS specifications, an open standard now makes it easy to integrate node monitoring in established SNMP-based network management systems.
There is no longer a need for expensive, specialized, single purpose and separate network management software systems that are typically needed for legacy transponder products. The new DOCSIS®-based node transponder can integrate easily into any SNMP-based network management tool.
Please visit Electroline at SCTE Cable-Tec Expo, Booth #1039, where representatives will be showing an optical node equipped with a DOCSIS®-based status monitoring transponder.
